Easter 2010

We had a fun/quiet Easter. It was an early morning for us with singing in a few services. The kids were very understanding that the Easter Bunny got backed up and had to ask John and I to hide the Easter eggs. We were so tired at that point, we didn't feel like sneaking around in the front yard. It's easy to get in touch with the Easter Bunny when you have his cell number. Oh, we also have Santa on speed dial. I almost woke up at 3am to throw something in the crock pot, but I was only getting about four hours of sleep. John had the idea to go to Benihana for dinner. What screams Easter better than Benihana? It was a far leap from traditional, but I kind of loved it.

Apollo ate an entire chocolate bunny that had lost it's way in the shuffle of opening Easter baskets at 5:30 in the morning. I'm now completely convinced that chocolate cannot kill a dog....not even make him sick; not that I was hoping for that or anything. Corinne had a fascination this year, almost an obsession, with the crown of thorns. She's heard about Jesus's crucifixion and resurrection at church, preschool, and at home. So, for an entire week or so I heard her talk about the sharp, pointy ring they put on Jesus's head that hurt him really bad. She would always have this sad, tender tone whenever she talked about it. We never got into any gruesome details, but it was sobering to see my four year old start to understand what Jesus did for us.

Here are some pictures of our Easter this year.
